My name is Deborah and I am the sole owner of art4ear. I am the maker, designer, creator, customer service person, photographer, marketer and shipper. I am use to wearing all these hats and wouldn't have it any other way.
While attending Algonquin College (1974-76), Fine Crafts/Arts program, I was invited to sell at the first large Christmas craft sale in Ottawa where I live. Through the encouragement of a few great jewelry/silversmith teachers and a sell-out result at the show, I continued to create jewelry.
Sixteen Christmas craft shows later, I decided to take a new direction and I was invited to join a craft shop in the Byward Market, which I enjoyed for 5 years.
When our daughter came along, I became a full time Mom, it was the BEST!
About 14 years ago, I was reading a design magazine while waiting for an appointment and read a small, but interesting article about a furniture designer who sold his handmade furniture on Etsy. At the time, I had no idea how to use a computer, but I knew I wanted a shop on Etsy.
Step by step my daughter taught me everything I needed to know to run my Etsy shop and the learning curve continues to grow.
To ' learn by doing' brings me great pleasure. I am having a wonderful time with my Etsy shop and enjoy every success!
ABOUT MY WORK
Everything in my shop art4ear is made by me.
I do not work with a manufacturer to produce my work, however, I do use manufactured jewelry findings such as the lever back ear wires to enhance my own creations. Most beads and jewelry findings can be sourced right here on Etsy.
